Children and Youth
Children's Sunday School classes are divided by age (Nursery, Toddlers, K-2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grade). Each class provides age appropriate ways of teaching the Children Bible stories and applying it to their lives through story, crafts, and fun! K-2nd and 3rd -5th grad classes meet in the classrooms on the main floor of the Christian Education building every Sunday at 9:30am. Nursery and Toddler classes meet on the lower level of the Christian Education building.
Middle School Class, for all youth in grades 6th-8th, meets on the second floor of the C.E. building.
High School Class, for all youth in grades 9th-12th, meets on the second floor of the new C.E building.
Adults
Morning Star Class is a casual class for any age to come and share their lives and faith with one another as they try to figure out how to follow Jesus. While not an easy task, we can support one another along the way.
Adult Bible Class studies Biblical Writings and their meanings for the times in which they were written and to understand them through the lives of the Chosen people of God, so that we may learn the essential principles of how human beings should deal with God and with each other. In doing so, we hope to become better Christians. The curriculum is "The Present Word" uniform lesson series. We donate money to Sunnyside Ministry and other groups, do church memorials and have an annual Christmas dinner at a member's home.
E.T. Clemmons Class is an adult Sunday School class for all ages. The primary concern is the study of scripture for the original meaning and how we can apply the scripture to our lives today. We use "The Present Word" for our study material. This study covers the beginning to the end of the Bible. We sponsor a child in Ecuador, the Samaritan's Purse shoebox campaign and other concerns during the year.
Covenant Class is a discussion-based class. We use various study materials, from Uniform Lesson Materials to videos to book studies. Several members serves as discussion leaders. We act as grade-parents for a class at Old Town Elementary, providing school supplies, class parties, tutoring, and any needs that might help. We also collect coins year round for the Samaritan Inn Coin Drive.
Fellowship Class has been a significant part of Clemmons Moravian for many years. Members of this class have always supported needed projects of CMC. A significant project of this class was the building and construction of the outdoor pavilion. Other church and community projects are constantly supported financially and personally as needed. Many members of this class have and are serving on church and Provincial Boards and Committees. We follow the Uniform Standard Curriculum prepared jointly by the Moravian, Presbyterian and United Church of Christ denominations. We have five dedicated teachers who share in the teaching of the class and a dedicated class membership that includes up to 40 members who attend regularly. Class activities and projects are determined on an annual basis.
