Bishop Augustus Gottlieb Spangenberg was one of the most prolific writers of hymns in the present Moravian Book Of Worship (hymnal). He also played an important role in the Moravian Church worldwide. CMC stands on Spangenberg Avenue in Clemmons, NC. Therefore, we named our handbell ringers after Spangenberg in an act of respect to this great man of Moravian history. Through the generosity of the membership, CMC is blessed to own two sets of Schulmerich Handbells and two sets of Melody Chimes/Tone Chimes. This program is open to all ages 12 and above. We have had as many as three bell choirs of different ages going at once. Playing the bells involves a good since of rhythm, a lot of determination, and a moderate knowledge of music. Rehearsals are held one hour once a week.
